Monday 29 June 7–9pm | reading internationalism #1
We will convene the first session of a critical reading and discussion group focused on the first half of the internationalist manifesto from The Peoples Want, Revolutions of Our Times (up to page 48, “turning exile into a position of attack” or however much attendees could read). Download the PDF here.
Saturday 4 July 2–6pm | commun~ for Mujawara
A casual and social afternoon introducing us to Mujawara and The Peoples Want, framed by ideas from the manifesto and other texts. Let’s hold and think through a few terms and situate them in the local context: what is our place here at the crossroads and as a logistical and financial hub for empires? What do we do from the long crisis under social pacification? How do we practice a revolutionary tenderness? This is accompanied by an open pinback button pressing activity around similar themes and slogans — we hope to have completed buttons for sale and prints to press with, but bring your own materials! (44mm buttons taking a 54mm design)
These are fundraising activities, pay what you can to attend but no one will be turned away for lack of funds (NOTAFLOF). All donations and half of proceeds after cost from the sales of distro prints, publications, and drinks during these events will also be directed to the Mujawara network's call for support.
Masks required, we have surgical masks available but wear a high quality one with good fit if possible to help keep each other safe.
